Supported vehicles

CarPort supports nearly all VW, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, and Cupra models from model year 1990 onward—listed here with type code, production period, and SFD notes.

Compatibility applies to VAG-specific diagnostics with a suitable diagnostic adapter. On newer models, write functions may be restricted by SFD or a Secure Gateway—read functions such as reading the fault memory, on the other hand, are available on all models.

How to find your vehicle

The tables are organized by brand. Since many models were built over several generations, each one is identified unambiguously by its type code—the Volkswagen Group's internal model designation (e.g., 1K for the Golf 5).

The Notes column means the following:

• 2x2 adapter required: The vehicle doesn't have a 16-pin OBD port yet, but the two-part VAG diagnostic connector (2x2) instead. To connect the diagnostic adapter, you need a 2x2-to-OBD adapter cable.
• SFD from …: From this model year on, write functions are secured by Vehicle Diagnostics Protection (SFD) and must be unlocked before you can use them.
• SFD/UNECE from …: In addition to SFD, a Secure Gateway restricts access to write functions.
• identical to …: The other manufacturer's model is technically identical to the named Volkswagen Group model and is diagnosed the same way.
